All Summer School classes will be held on campus at Calgary Academy (CA) located at 1677 - 93 Street SW - and will run July 2 - July 25, 2025 from 8:30AM to 1:30PM.
Class sizes average 10-16 students. All subjects are dependent on student interest.Classes must have a minimum of nine students to move forward and will be confirmed by May 16, 2025.
Cost $750.00 - students may only enroll in one summer class.
Summer School Classes Offered and Exam Dates
All applications will be reviewed before admission to the class is confirmed, pending the receipt and review of all required documentation and prerequisite information. Confirmation of enrolment will be communicated, on or prior to, May 16, 2025, May 30, 2025 and June 20, 2025.
Non-CA Students: students not enrolled at CA for the 2024-2025 School Year, in addition to knowing the nine-digit Alberta Student ID number, will need to attach/upload up to three external documents to this form as listed below. As this form cannot be saved before submission, please gather these documents prior to starting this form:
All Students are required to be in attendance and no provision will be made for missed classes, or for late start or early release. In the case of a student or group of students needing to quarantine or needing to miss class because of symptoms, special accommodations will be arranged with the student. Students must have the prerequisite course in-progress or completed prior to registration.
Students enrolling in summer school courses must have a strong English language proficiency. No supports can be offered to English Language Learners (ELL).
All course applications will be reviewed before admission to the class is confirmed. An email confirming admission will be sent or a full refund will be processed if a class needs to be canceled and an alternate class cannot be agreed to.
In the event a student is withdrawn or expelled, the parent(s)/guardian(s) of the student will be responsible for the following:
◦ If the withdrawal of a student occurs May 30, 2025 or later no refund will be provided
◦ If the withdrawal of a student occurs prior to May 30, 2025, a 50% refund will be provided
◦ If the expulsion of a student occurs at any time during the course term, no refund will be provided
If the student does not have the prerequisite for the summer class, no refund will be provided.

Conditions of Enrolment
Calgary Academy Society, along with its related organizations, Headwater Learning Foundation and Headwater Learning Solutions Foundation (collectively referred to as the Headwater Learning Group or “HLG”), is committed to protecting the personal information of Calgary Academy students and abiding by the requirements of the Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA). Headwater Learning Foundation is a non-profit entity that assists Calgary Academy and other qualified charitable donees with promoting, fostering and maintaining high-quality education programs. It also owns and manages the school building and facilities and supports fundraising. Headwater Learning Solutions Foundation is a non-profit entity with the purpose of advancing education through research and consulting on new 21st Century teaching methodologies. HLG will only collect, use and disclose personal information of Calgary Academy students in accordance with PIPA and, where required, only with the consent of the student and the parent(s)/guardian(s) of the student.
By signing this consent, you consent to the collection, use and disclosure of the student’s personal information set out herein by HLG for the purposes stated on this consent.
Purpose and Consent
HLG wishes to collect, use and disclose certain information of Calgary Academy students for non-profit educational purposes, recruiting prospective families, promotional materials, and fundraising purposes, that help us celebrate the successes of our students with parents, the community, and general public. When you sign this consent, you are agreeing that your child’s personal information (image, first name, first initial of surname, grade, interviews, samples of work, recordings) may be shared publicly by HLG. Some examples of how this information may be shared are as follows:
Parent(s)/Guardian(s) and students are under no obligation to consent; it is a voluntary decision to do so.
HLG or its designee shall have complete ownership of any intellectual property and may provide to media outlets for their unrestricted use, indefinitely. This intellectual property is not limited to any particular media format or publication medium and is not subject to any geographical publication limits (i.e./ property may be used outside of Canada). HLG does not have control of the material once it is disseminated.
Access to information
You may obtain access to the personal information that has been collected, used or disclosed about the student by HLG at any time and review its content and accuracy and have it amended as appropriate; however, access may be restricted as permitted or required by law. To request access to such information, to ask questions about HLG’s privacy policies or to withdraw your consent, please contact HLG’s Privacy Officer at privacy@calgaryacademy.com.
Consent
Consent is valid until you withdraw your consent, and information, images, student work, etc. from prior years where consent has been provided and have been used in publications, on the internet, or through media, are permanent and cannot be limited to a specific audience, or made available only for a specific time period. Without expectation or compensation or other remuneration, now or in the future:

Calgary Academy may also display your child's photo, student works and pictures for educational purposes within the classroom and throughout the school (including posting of student works or images in the hallways). Your consent is implied in these circumstances.

The REACH principles are our community's guidelines in both our face to face and digital interactions. At Calgary Academy, we recognize that rapid changes in how we live, learn, and work have increased the importance of responsible digital citizenship as well as the effective use of productivity, collaboration, and networking tools.
Definitions
Electronic Devices: Electronic Devices include, but are not limited to, laptop computers, tablets, smartphones, handheld devices and e-book readers. Electronic Devices include Personally Owned Devices.
Personally Owned Devices: any Electronic Device brought into the school and owned by a student or the student’s family.
Personal Technology: Personally Owned Devices or Technology, including but not limited to cellular/mobile technology, servers, networks, websites, Internet services, computer applications, data, e-mail and social media.
Technology: Technology resources include, but are not limited to, Electronic Devices, cellular/mobile technology, servers, networks, websites, Internet services, computer applications, data, e-mail and collaboration tools. Examples of powerful online tools available to Calgary Academy students include PowerSchool Learning, Office 365, YouTube, Google, and internal student e-mail.

This Technology and Online Code of Conduct applies to all Calgary Academy provided Technology, to all Personally Owned Devices and to all Personal Technology, as follows:
Acceptable Use
Acceptable use of technology at Calgary Academy encourages content creation, co-production, and connecting with authentic audiences. Acceptable use includes following the REACH principles in our digital interactions, being respectful of the privacy of fellow students as well as adhering to copyright laws.

As a school community, we recognize that online actions while at school, as well as outside of school hours, can have implications for learning, face-to-face interactions, and the social-emotional wellness of students and staff at school. By following REACH in our digital lives inside and outside of school, we contribute to our school community by promoting a trusting and productive learning environment.
Unacceptable Use
Greater access to the Internet and online tools on our school network requires a student commitment to use these resources in a way that does not put themselves or any member of our community at risk. The non-exhaustive list below provides examples of what constitutes instances of unacceptable use:
Expectation of Privacy
Calgary Academy Technology and all data stored on Calgary Academy Technology may be reviewed, monitored and accessed by authorized individuals, as needed.
Users of Calgary Academy Technology should not expect privacy with respect to any of their activities when using Calgary Academy Technology. Calgary Academy reserves the right to review, retrieve, read and disclose any files, messages or communications that are created, sent, received or stored on Calgary Academy Technology. Calgary Academy’s right to monitor is for the purpose of ensuring the security and protection of students, preventing unlawful and/or inappropriate conduct, and creating and maintaining a productive learning environment. If Technology and Online Code of Conduct violations are discovered, this will result in an investigation and necessary action will be taken, where appropriate. Information stored on personally owned devices is the responsibility of the device owner/user. However, Personally Owned Devices which are used in breach of this Technology and Online Code of Conduct in a manner that negatively impacts school climate will result in a full investigation and necessary action will be taken, where appropriate. Searches of Personally Owned Devices are anticipated to be extremely rare, however, can be performed where there is reasonable and probable grounds to believe that this Technology and Online Code of Conduct has or is being violated, and where evidence of the violation will be found on the Personally Owned Device that is being searched. It is agreed that the student can have no reasonable expectation of privacy in this regard, while on Calgary Academy premises.
Discipline
Failure to follow this Technology and Online Code of Conduct may result in the school limiting or revoking privileges. Serious violations may result in further disciplinary actions and may have legal implications (Government of Canada cyber-bullying site). Please contact your Assistant Principal if you have questions about this Technology and Online Code of Conduct, or if you think someone may be at risk due to another's use of technology or online activity. By maintaining the highest ethical standards in our face to face and digital interactions, our community will be promoting an environment in which members can pursue their learning goals confidently and freely.

Medical Tax Credit
Tuition costs for the parents/guardians of students may be eligible to be claimed as a medical expense credit under Section 118.2(2) (e) of the Income Tax Act (link below). Please refer to the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) website (link below) for full details or contact your tax advisor for clarification. Calgary Academy will only provide medical tax letters if required by CRA in review of a claim. A charge of $100 will apply to cover the costs involved in securing this letter.
